Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made several changes to his Cabinet line-up on Wednesday (April 8).
The changes are part of “continuing leadership renewal” in Singapore, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement detailing the new appointments.
Singapore Cabinet Reshuffle involves the following Office-holders:
Mr Masagos Zulkifli
At present: Senior Minister of State at both the Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs ministries
Changes: Promoted to a full Minister from Thursday (April 9). He will be a Minister in the PMO, and will continue in both his existing ministries as their new Second Minister.
Mr Chan Chun Sing
At present: Social and Family Development Minister and Second Defence Minister
Changes: Will relinquish both positions from Thursday. He will be a Minister in the PMO.
Mr Lim Swee Say
At present: Minister in the PMO
Changes Will leave post and become the new Manpower Minister on May 4.
Mr Tan Chuan-Jin
At present: Manpower Minister
Changes: Will become the new Social and Family Development Minister on Thursday. Will relinquish Manpower post on May 4.
Mr Lui Tuck Yew
At present: Transport Minister
Changes: Additional responsibility as the new Second Minister for Defence from Thursday.
The changes take effect on Thursday (April 9), except for the change in the post of Manpower Minister, which will take effect on May 4.
